Network
We weave, curate and cultivate a values-aligned community of storytellers and story-lovers. We learn, build community and practice liberation together.
Network Gatherings
Inspired by the Dark Tower parties of the Harlem Renaissance, members of our Network meet up bi-monthly on the third Fridays to build trusting relationships, learn together, share stories and celebrate each others’ wins. It’s an online open house for newcomers and a great way to plug back in if you’ve been away for a while.
Clips & Conversation
An intergenerational, interactive, community Salon
At our Clips & Conversation events, we use clips from pop culture TV shows as discussion prompts to discuss hot topics in Blackness, build narrative power and author our own stories.
The design of the sessions fosters a container that is both strong and loving enough to help participants engage across difference to interrogate and sometimes even appreciate popular culture storytelling depicting Black lives. Think front porch/stoop + barber shop + church parking lot + Harlem Renaissance Salon + family reunion with family you just met = Clips & Conversation!
Hosted weekly for 6 - 8 week “cycles”, the Baldwin Morrison Writers Group is a virtual space for writers of African descent to work on writing craft in community, center Black humanity, and deepen our liberatory sensibilities as content creators.
The Spring Cycle will be hosted on Sundays, March 19 - May 7th, 2023., from 7:30p - 9:00p EST virtually
